Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on October 28 1967 and was the child of Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is part of the Robertses' fourth generation who reside in the Atlanta region beginning by her grandfather John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. Her father's passion for theatre was inherited by her. in theater from a young time. He performed on at the Emory University campus in 1952 as well as in various productions in Atlanta. He joined the military in 1953. While working in Biloxi Mississippi, he appeared in the military's production, which featured Betty Lou Bredemus who was also in the air force. They married in 1955. Their first daughter, Eric Anthony, was born in the year 1956. In 1957, the couple left the military and Walter enrolled at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter started his work at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. In 1964, Walter along with Betty Lou began production on an on-sunday morning local children's television show called Bum Bum and His Buddies which they funded by themselves. In 1964 Betty Lou and Walter founded the Actors and Writers Workshop. The organization lasted for a total of the duration of six years. They welcomed in 1965 two more children into their lives: Lelisa Billingsley as well as Julia Billingsley.
