April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began the guitar and piano lessons in seventh grade. This sparked curiosity. April Lockhart penned her first song"Different" at twelve years old. She spent lots of time when she was 14 making songs and practicing the piano. Then, in the following months, April began to go on trips with her dad and write at home in NY as well as LA. April began including other topics in the book, Take My Hand, for those of her peers who struggled with disabilities, peer pressure or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart has become a sought-after lifestyle blogger and having partnerships with clean beauty brands Ilia, has built a large audience. She was born without her left hand, and it's part of her story, but it's hardly her whole story. The account on Instagram of Lockhart doesn't deny her disability. However, it doesn't make it a point to emphasize her disability. What message is it trying to convey? It's important to keep in mind that we all have numerous faces. Our identities vary and we're more than our bodies. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart via video "I don't think that should define my character. It's not my intention to have an impact on disability, because I've many more things to contribute." My day-today life is not directly affected by disability. I go about my regular daily life, and come up with my own solutions to issues. This is also part of my life, and I think it should be discussed. Lockhart's self-acceptance journey is one that will last an entire lifetime. She has been a source of inspiration for this purpose. However, she admits having moments that made her feel uncomfortable about her appearance and wearing clothing that showed her arms. She is able to wear anything she likes, and is proud to share photos of herself in these outfits. Self-love she said is like a journey. "I don't think you'll be in that place," she said. It's a long journey. I don't think you ever reach your destination. It's essential to have those around you who are aware of and appreciate the way you feel. They'll be the ones to ask your: What are you think about?
